Foreign and local companies upbeat on listing in future LSE

(KPL) Foreign and local companies are already showing an interest in listing their companies in the yet–to-be-established Lao Stock Exchange (LSE) and it will open in 2010.
The preparation for the setting up of this financial institution is getting much support from the Lao government. What is encouraging is that there is already a manual on the Lao Stock Exchange and it was drafted by the Stock Exchange of Thailand. In order to inform the locals on the operations of the stock market, the SET in cooperation with the Lao PDR Bank organized a seminar on trading in stock markets.
This seminar, under the chairmanship of the Governor of Lao PDR Bank, Mr Phouphet Khamphounvong took place in the Lane Xang Hotel on 24 November.
A follow-up of the seminar was the signing of a MOU on bilateral cooperation of assistance on stock exchange administration between the Lao PDR Bank and SET.
