Vientiane , Hanoi enhance ties

(KPL) Vientiane Capital’s Vice Mayor, Mr. Bounchanh Sinthavong last Thursday received here President of Hanoi People’s Committee, Dr. Nguyen The Thao and his delegation.

Dr. Nguyen and his delegation were visiting Vientiane Capital on July 22-23 to enhance the cooperation between the capital cities of Laos and Vietnam.

Dr. Nguyen’s visit was in response to the invitation of Vientiane Mayor, Mr. Sombath Yialiheu. At the amicable talks, Mr. Bounchanh and Dr. Nguyen appreciated and highly valued the socio-economic development in Vientiane Capital and Hanoi and the relations and cooperation between both capital cities as well as between Laos and Vietnam.

Both sides confirmed their commitment to enhancing the cooperation between Vientiane Capital and Hanoi particularly through the exchange visit of their officials.

The Vietnamese delegation also visited the Vientiane-Hanoi Friendship Vocational School, That Luang – the Great Stupa, and some production establishments in the capital city. On the occasion, Mr. Bounchanh also informed the visiting guest and his delegation of Vientiane Capital’s preparation for celebrating its 450th proclamation anniversary as national
capital.
