Agriculture and forestry officials review livestock, veterinarian and fisheries works

(KPL) Agriculture and Forestry officials across the countries gathered in Vientiane to evaluate the implementation of government works of livestock production, veterinary and fisheries in the last twelve months and lay out plan on such works for the 2008-2009 period. Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Mr. Sitaheng Lathsaphon chaired the meeting, which was held on 20-21 November. Law on livestock production and veterinary was introduced at the meeting.
Mr. Sitaheng urged the participants to realise enhancing the cooperation between government organizations and relevant organisations, promote information technology (IT) development and government projects, especially those related to agriculture and forestry areas.
Animal husbandry and fisheries is a key factor for increasing the national animal productivity.
The minister also urged the participants to learn and firmly grasp the law on animal husbandry and veterinary to ensure its implementation in line with the new mechanism of the Party, develop appropriate measures for controlling and implementing the movement of animals in the country and to foreign countries.
