Bone and remains of US soldiers returned home

(KPL) A handover ceremony of remains of the US soldiers who missing in action during the war in Laos was held on 18 November in Savannakhet province.
The function, the first time for 2008-2009 period, was attended by Mr. Phongsavad Boupha, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Mr. Peter Hemon, Temporary Charge d’ affaires of US Embassy to Laos.
The presented bone and remains was from the joint survey operations conducted by Lao-American technical teams on case No. 1519 in Ban Soppeng, Bualapha district, Khammuane province and case No. 0276 in Ban Vangmou, Sepone district, Savannakhet province.
The operations are being carried out under the humanitarian policy of the Lao government and in response to requests from the US government and families of those missing in action.
