Darkchueng needs 59 teachers for coming academic year

(KPL) Ninety five teachers are needed for the coming school year in Darkchueng district, southern province of Sekong, according to an official.

Deputy Head of the Physical Education Office of Darkchueng District, Mr. Singsavanh Rebanghieng, said that thirty nine teachers applied for teaching in various schools across the district in the previous academic year but the number was behind the district’s needed 46.

For the coming school year, 35 teachers are needed for secondary schools, 21 teachers for higher education institutes and three for kindergartens, according to the official.

Mr. Singsavanh said that most teachers were needed for teaching at schools in remote areas and those who were assigned by the government to teach in remote areas would be treated with appropriate incentive policies.

“After three years or so of teaching in remote areas, they could be transferred to teach at schools in urban areas or probably get scholarship for further education,” said Mr. Singsavanh.
