Teaching know-how needs to further improve, says Mayor
(KPL) Vientiane Mayor Sombath Yialiher has stressed the education needs to improve the quality of teachers to overcome the coming plan of government is set.
Mr. Sombath’s advice was made at an annual meeting of the Vientiane Education Administrators, at the Nongbouathong Political Theory and Administration School on 20 July.
“The teacher is a main key to be successful and good model for students, as a result, it needs to improve the quality of teachers,” he highlighted.
The graduation rate of primary school in the 2009-10 academic year in Vientiane Capital, increased from 94.84 per cent to 95.88 per cent thanks to the efforts of Vientiane Education Service and sectors concerned, he applauded.
“However, some works of Vientiane Education Service need to further improve, particularly the teaching skills of teachers in private and state schools,” he advised.
