SDPM receives new UNICEF resident representative
(KPL) Standing Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Somsavat Lengsavad , received at his office in Vientiane on 20 July a courtesy visit of the new Country Representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Mr. Timothy Schaffter.
On this occasion, Mr. Somsavat appreciated the appointment of Mr. Timothy as new UNICEF country representative and highly valued the assistance the world organisation had provided for Laos, which had contributed to improving the living condition of Lao people, mainly mother and child affairs.
Mr. Timothy assured the SDPM that he would do his utmost in cooperating with the Lao government to enhance the cooperation between the UNICEF and the Lao PDR to ensure that it was fruitful.
