Savannakhet to create more than 80 drug-free schools till 2015

 (KPL) Savannakhet will seriously intend to control and take action against the use of narcotics drug in the education sector through adverse drug awareness and sets a plan to create more than 80 drug-free schools till 2015.

Head of Savannakhet Drug Suppression and Control Division, Mr. Somchanh Chuangbaikham said recently that now the use of drugs, amphetamines pattern in Savannakhet tends to spread out, leading to adverse social phenomena such as unsafe and negative impact to socio-economic development especially human resource development in the province.

The plan has been made in response to the instructions of Minister of Education and Sports and Savannakhet Governor, regarding to drug suppression and control, and adverse social phenomena addressing in schools.

Over the past one year, Savannakhet Education and Sports Division focused on control narcotics drugs in school by disseminating law and adverse impact on narcotic drugs through campaign activities in schools.
