Mid-term socio-economic development plan reviewed

(KPL) The Ministry of Planning and Investment held a meeting in Vientiane on 18 November, to review the implementation of the mid-term socio-economic development plan.
Presided over by Dr Bounthavy Sisouphanthong, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment, the meeting was attended by representatives of ministries and international organisations.
The objective was to report the progress and evaluation of the implementation of the mid-term sixth socio-economic development plan of the Government and the UN millennium development goal. The progress will be proposed and reported at the 7th social economy development plan.
The participants also discussed on preparing the next week roundtable meeting.
The UN millennium development goal was approved by Lao government in 2000, as the government pledged to achieve the goal by 2015.
