National Circus to open every weekend

(KL) Art Department, Ministry of Information and Culture, said on July 12 that it had decided to open the Lao National Circus every weekend.

The decision was made after the Lao National Circus, the Lao Chaleunsin Company and the Tour Operators’ Association reached an agreement to cooperate on opening the circus.

A ceremony to announce the opening of the circus every weekend was held at the National Circus on July 12. The event saw the presence of Deputy Minister of Information and Culture, Mr. Bouagneun Saophouvong, representatives of the Lao Chaleunsin Company and the Tour Operators’ Association and relevant officials.

“Besides to national holidays or special occasions, we will open the circus to the public every weekend,” said Director of the Lao National Circus Khamlek Sokchanthalavong.

“We want to promote Lao art and show the public that our circus has developed and gained progress and to generate income for the improvement and maintenance of the circus, which was built in 1990,” Mr. Khamlek added.

The circus will open twice on the weekend—13:30 hours and 19:30 hours.
