New edition of Party history launched

(KPL) Two thousand copies of second edition of Party history with 368 pages featuring each period of Party leadership, was launched in Vientiane Capital on 14 July after completing last month.

The book will then be distributed to the Party’s leaders, ministries and other sectors throughout the country.

The first edition of the Party history was published about 1,000 copies with 400 pages in 1997.

The launching ceremony of new edition of Party history was attended by Mr. Samane Vinhaket, a politburo member who is also the Head of the Steering Committee for Ideology, Theory and Culture of the Party Central Committee, Dr. Khamphoui Panmalaythong, Head of National Institute of Society and Science and relevant officials.

In 1987, the Party history was researched by two pioneers of Mr. Sisana Sisane and Mr. Ouanheuane Phounsavath together with officials of the National Society Science Committee after that the research had been further made and edited by the Steering Committee for Ideology, Theory and Culture of PCC. As a result, the first edition of Party history has been published in 1997.

The second edition of Party history has been improved and added more information on the leadership of Party from the 6th Party Congress to 8th Party Congress, and the list of politburo members, Party Secretariat and members of the Party Central Committee from the first Party Congress to 8th Party Congress.

This book will be a basic information and knowledge on Party history to be further researched and improved although it is not perfect one. The second edition features many important events of the Party ranging from the growth of Party, national development and defence to the revolution movements of each periods.
