Party gives radio station as a gift for army
(KPL) The Party and Government made a decision on the construction of a new radio FM station construction of 10 kilowatts of transmission for Lao People’s Army as a gift on upcoming the 60th anniversary founding of Lao People’s Army (20 January). A ground breaking ceremony of a new radio FM station construction took place on 28 November at the Radio-Television Unit of the Lao People’s Army in Vientiane. The foundation stone for the construction of the new radio FM station was laid out by the Brigadier General Soubanh Hounnachampa, Deputy Head of General Politic Department of Army which was attended by line-deputy ministers, head of departments, officers and the contractor company. The radio station is an important infrastructure of army and priceless gift of the Party and Government gave to the Ministry of National Defence on the 60th anniversary foundation of Lao People’s Army. The framework of construction is to build a transmission studio, a building with 10 rooms and install transmission line and radio poles, and 10 kilowatts of radio transmitter. The construction worth US$2.8 million and will be bought a broadcast van. After 12 months of construction, this radio station will transmit frequency 99.7 MHz radio service which covers nationwide.
