NA members discuss law on printing

(KPL) The sixth day of National Assembly Session of sixth legislature on Monday debated a new draft law on printing to support the model industrial printing activities and current printing expansion.
This new law will be a legal instrument for managing and controlling the printing activities in the country which so far the Ministry of Information and Culture used a temporary determination on printing distribution, printing and print media, issued by the Council of Ministers in 1987.
But now the determination was not able to comply with the growth of print media is being boomed so it needs the legal tool to control the market-orientation mechanism.
The law on printing was done by the Ministry of Information and Culture in 2003 and the draft has been amended for many times and it was approved by monthly government in October 2008. In addition the Drafting Committee of Printing Law of the Ministry of Information and Culture in cooperation with the Standing Committee for National Assembly gathered to amend this draft law for eight times at the end of October and passed other relevant agencies. This draft law on printing consists of 9 parts, 8 charters and 77 articles, which expected to be approved at the National Assembly Session next week.
