LFEA receives International ODOP Promotion Award
(KPL) The Lao Female Entrepreneurs’ Association has won International One District One Product (ODOP) Promotion Award from the One Village One Product (OVOP), Oita, Japan. The awarding is to recognise the association’s efforts in promoting goods production, poverty reduction, job creation and the wisdom exploitation of Lao ethnic people. The handover of the award was held on Tuesday at the Trade and Economic Research Institute, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, by Dr Nam Viyaket, Minister of Industry and Commerce, to Mrs Chanthao Phathammavong, President of the Lao Women Business Association. Relevant officials witnessed the handover. ODOP movement has been implemented in Laos since 2003. It is aimed to raise public awareness on One District, One Product, designed to promote Lao ethnic people to develop their market-oriented production and strengthen their economic competitiveness. The movement is also aimed to promote the wisdom of production of the ethnic people, their self-sufficiency, invention and human resource development.
